It's About Safety
Walk Bike Burbank (WBB) began as a small group of interested cyclists who saw a proposed section of new bike path no longer moving forward through the approval process in city government. In July 2014 we formally established WBB as a local chapter of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC). We brought together other interested cyclists and people who enjoy walking outdoors and started canvassing the neighborhood around the bike path, asking residents to support the project and let City Council members know how they felt. We partnered with another community group to help build support for the project, keeping all aware of upcoming votes regarding the project. Construction on this bike path is currently underway. (Spring 2020)
WBB has continued to stay active in the community, providing bike valet service at local events, bike maintenance and safety programs, and bringing together more people interested in making Burbank a safer place to walk and ride.
Every time I see an adult on a bicycle,
I no longer despair for the future of the human race.
Walk Bike Burbank works towards making Burbank safer to walk and bike. We do this through advocacy, education, and community bicycling events.
We support a Burbank that is bicycle and pedestrian friendly. Our goal is to work alongside existing organizations and groups in a way that promotes walking and cycling, both in our city and as our city connects with adjacent communities. We envision a Burbank where walking and/or bicycling are viable alternatives to driving.
